MIRA MAODUS

For almost fifty years Mira Maodus lived and worked in the last studio of the Cité Falguière artist, in Paris.

Trait d'union between Montparnasse and La Ruche, the Cité Falguière at the beginning of the last century, attracted artists from all over the world: Amedeo Modigliani, Constantin Brancuşi, Chaim Soutine, Giuseppe Csaky, Alexandre Zinoview, Tsugouharu Foujita.

A mythical place that consecrated the golden age of the Ecole de Paris.

In 1913, the Russian artist Chaim Soutine lived and worked in this studio. In the courtyard of the Atelier,  Amedeo Modigliani  sculpted The Caryatid (New York, The Museum of Modern Art).

In September 2021 the workshop passed to the association L'Air Arts to become a research center on the School of Paris and residence for international artists.
